About the Volvo 240
The Volvo 240 (1974–1993) is one of the most iconic models in Volvo's history. Robust, safe and built to last for generations, the 240 grew into a true classic among enthusiasts of Scandinavian durability and timeless design.
When the 240 series was introduced, the final digit still indicated the body style: the 242 was the 2-door, the 244 the 4-door sedan and the 245 the 5-door Estate. Volvo later simplified the naming and all versions were officially called the Volvo 240. Still, the name 245 lived on among enthusiasts – and to this day every Volvo connoisseur immediately knows it refers to the beloved station wagon.
Available as a Sedan and Estate, with reliable engines such as the B21 and B23, the Volvo 240 remains a favourite among everyone who appreciates character, reliability and everyday usability.
